Kath & Kim weren't enough to grab the eyeballs last night as news and current affairs held their grip on audiences, according to OzTam figures. The Eurovision final drew almost as many punters, giving SBS a boost.
Kath & Kim Kountdown on Seven attracted an audience of 678,000. While the network did regain lost ground with Seven News and Sunday Night, it wasn't enough to beat current leader Nine.
The one-off program listed the top 20 moments of the iconic Australian comedy series, with input from celebrities including designer Alex Perry and celebrity chefs Manu Fieldel and Julie Goodwin.
Conversely, Seven News and Sunday Night performed well for the network with respective combined metro audiences of 1.4 million and 1.1 million. Local drama A Place to Call Home also attracted 1.1 million viewers.
Despite this, it was no match for Channel Nine which continued its held its current place atop the ratings chart. In first place was 60 Minutes with 1.7 million metro viewers, followed by Nine News with 1.5 million.
The Block: Sky High kept its momentum with 1.5 million viewers. The reality renovation show has rated well over one million since its debut last Sunday (12 May 2013). House Husbands also fared well, attracting an audience of more than 1.1 million viewers.
Meanwhile, the top-rating program for Channel Ten was The Biggest Loser: Next Generation with 728,000 metro viewers. Elementary wasn't far behind with an audience of 697,000.
Other programs in the top 20 included Ten's Modern Family with 671,000 viewers and Bondi Rescue with 535,000. Nine's CSI: Crime Scene Investigation saw 680,000 people tune in, while the Eurovision final on SBS attracted 595,000 viewers.
