Fairfax Radio aims for boundary with cricket play

To spruik its summer cricket coverage, Fairfax Radio will launch a major ad campaign on 9 December with a “heavyweight” schedule.

The campaign, developed by Whybin TBWA, will run until the end of the Big Bash League season in February across newspapers, online, mobile, magazines and social media, much of it on the Fairfax network.

It is designed to showcase extensive cricket coverage on 2UE, 3AW, 4BC and 6PR.

Fairfax has invested in the broadcasts with commentators including Ian Chappell, Dean Jones, Greg Blewett, Damien Fleming and Greg Matthews.

“This will be a major campaign for the Fairfax Radio Network as we look to build audience for our cricket debut this summer,” Fairfax Radio Network content director Clark Forbes said. “It will be the first time a commercial broadcaster is calling the majority of the cricket and we want to ensure cricket fans know about our great summer cricket coverage across the network.”
