Masterchef whips up a winner

Masterchef has had a strong run in the overnight OzTam ratings with the show bringing in 1.086 million viewers making it the most watch entertainment program of the night.

The show came in second spot overall with the season final of The Checkout coming in eight place with 760,000 viewers.

Channel Nine came out on top in audience percentage share taking 27.6% of the overnight viewers scraping in ahead of Seven by just one percentage point. Ten brought in 22.5% of the audience share.

Out of the top 10 shows of the night five were news programs with Nine News taking out the top two news shows with Nine News number one with 1.27 million and Nine News at 6:30 third with 1.086 million viewers.

Rounding out the news programs were Seven News in fourth followed by Seven News and Today Tonight in fifth, each gaining audiences of 986,000 and 916,000 respectively.

Of the entertainment programs Masterchef came in number one followed by Home and Away in seventh on an audience of 814,000, The Checkout came in 8th followed by The Time of our Lives on the ABC in ninth spot with 636,000 and rounding out the top 10 was Law and Order SVU on Ten with 675,000 viewers.
