Havas Media has hired Andy Mulrenan as account director from OMD to work across the accounts the agency has recently picked up.

Mulrenan had been with OMD for seven years. With the agency recently ending its relationship with Douwe Egberts Master Blenders (DEMB), and Havas Media acquiring the account, Mulrenan will oversee DEMB, as well as work across OneShift, LG Electronics and Emirates.

"I’m really impressed by the Havas Media model, with digital and data at its core," said Mulrenan. "I really want to be part of a new agency, and I’m convinced that Havas Media is going to be one to watch."

Havas Media today confirmed the DEMB account move. Rena Chatterjee, director of marketing at DEMB said “we were really impressed by Havas Media’s approach to our brand and communication challenges. They take a highly strategic and intelligent approach, and are intent on a high degree of collaboration with our other agencies. They’re the thoroughly modern media agency we need."

Mike Wilson, CEO of Havas Media, said “the agency was "delighted to be working with Rena and her team. Moccona, for one, is an iconic brand, and we’re looking forward to producing some great thinking and successful media campaigns".
