AFR to launch new website

The Australian Financial Review has announced it will launch a new website, incorporating feedback from its readers and key sponsors.

At an event last night hosted by the newspaper, Jen Marshall, product director for the business vertical, APM at Fairfax Media said she was excited about the arrival of a new afr.com.

“This whole process has been founded in listening to our customer needs and sponsors,” she said. "Our audience wants our content delivered on a multi-platform service in an easy to read and easy to navigate platform. So I'm excited to say that it won't be very long until we're actually delivering those improvements to market.”

Marshall explained that the website revamp comes off the back of a successful year for the paper with subscriber numbers exceeding expectations.

“We are far ahead of our expectations for our subscriber numbers and of course that’s no surprise to us, the journalism is fantastic.”

“The AFR is the most trusted business publication in Australia and we reach 42% of business elites in c-suites, that's 15% more than any of our nearest competitors,” she said.

Marshall added that the paper has a continued commitment to continue to publish BRW lists off the back of the paper publishing the BRW 200 Rich List last week.

The next financial year will see the paper continue to focus on its key publishing platforms that were identified as print, online, mobile, events and television, she said.
