EXCLUSIVE: Virgin Money is tipped to appoint Omnicom agency M2M to its $3 million media account, after the company's relationship with GroupM conflict unit MCHI ended earlier this year.

While neither Virgin Money nor M2M had provided comment at the time of writing, multiple industry sources have said the account is currently in the process of moving into M2M. AdNews understands contract discussions are currently taking place.

The process has been overseen by recently appointed Australian head of marketing Danielle Williams, who took the top marketing post at the end of last year, replacing Ryan Tinsdale.

The pitch was launched after the company's relationship with GroupM conflict unit MCHI ended. MCHI launched in Australia in 2009 to service the Virgin Money brand. Following the split in the relationship, AdNews understands the MCHI unit will no longer exist locally.

Virgin Money has recently appointed independent agency The Works as its creative agency locally. The agency was appointed at the end of last year. Virgin Money had previously hired UK agency Beattie McGuinness Bungay (BMB) to handle its advertising after its local agency Happy Soldiers disbanded.

BMB is also Virgin Money UK's creative agency.

Virgin Money spend an estimated $2.8 million in 2011, down from $2.9 million the prior year, according to Nielsen.
