House Rules has done the double over The Voice, beating the talent show into second place in the free-to-air TV ratings.

The latest Reveal show on Seven's home reno series won 1.652 million viewers across Australia's five metro areas last night. It did the same with its Reveal show last week.

Nine's The Voice came in second, with 1.575 million viewers, according to preliminary overnight ratings figures from OzTam.

The win for Seven coincides with the network announcing it has commissioned a third series of House Rules, due to the success of the current series.

Ten's MasterChef Australia came in as 14th most-watched program, with an audience of 743,000.

It was a battle between the news programs for third to seventh spots, with Nine News coming out on top with 1.340 million viewers.

Nine News at 6.30 was fourth, with 1.239 million viewers, Seven News was fifth, with 1.229 million, Nine's A Current Affair was sixth, with 1.196 million, and Seven's Today Tonight was seventh, with 1.122 million.

Home and Away, on Seven, pushed over the one million marker, winning an audience of 1.042 million to put it in eighth spot.

Completing the top 10 were Nine's The Big Bang Theory, ninth with 1.038 million viewers, and Seven's Revenge, 10th with an audience of 838,000.
