The average Yahoo7 user is on a horse...

Vladimir Putin, an ordinary punter, a businessman, a dancing couple, a grandma, two pandas, and a burley bloke end up on a horse. It's not the set-up to a ripping yarn, but an unprecedented marketing push from Yahoo7.

A new television commercial developed by The Monkeys seeks to highlight the diversity of the Yahoo7 network by plotting the journey of an average Joe around the suite of offerings available to people.

The multichannel push includes TV, digital display, social and video distribution, with Yahoo7 calling it the “most significant brand project for Yahoo7 in recent years”.

The key insights from The Monkeys were the moments of cognitive dissidence we all experience while surfing the net.

“Every now and again you’ll be looking at something online and think ‘Hold on, how did I end up here?’ Chances are it’s a long way from your starting point,” a Monkeys spokesperson said.

“So that’s where we started. It’s an interesting way of looking at how people engage with each of the Yahoo7 properties”

Yahoo7 features a wide range of content from local and international news to finance, sport and lifestyle information, access to weather and mail, as well as video content on PLUS7.
