What happens when an Aussie tries to make Scotch whisky? You get Pure Scot. A whisky with balls.

The first ads from the renegade distiller aim to prove that an Aussie can make Scotch.

Whisky is crowded market with a rich heritage and Pure Scot is pitched as a modern Scotch – with balls. It's for individuals and “those who don’t want to be told”.

Aussie multimillionaire David Prior bought the 200 year old Blandoch distillery in Scotland in 2015 and launched Pure Scot this year.

Now it's launching the first online ads for the brand. The ads may also run in cinema and it will review future media plans in 2017. It's also active on social media and its Instagram is awash with beaches and babes, rather than the traditional imagery associated with Scotch.

The ad was made by Melbourne-based Chocolate studios.
