Surfing legend and shark survivor Mick Fanning and AFL Sydney Swans Captain Jarrad McVeigh have swapped sporting threads for designer suits.

Fanning and McVeigh join Entourage founder and self made millionaire, Jack Delosa and fashion influencer Jimmy Niggles in a new campaign for menswear brand, Van Heusen.

With a twist on the traditional ‘model’ role, each man will showcase the latest looks from the Van Heusen spring/summer collection in addition to joining as mentors. The campaign aims to provide Australian males with the skills, style advice and inspiration to be the best in their chosen field,.

From sports to science, arts and fashion to business and tech, the campaign represents talent from diverse industries.

Other males fronting the campaign include pioneering bionic fusion surgeon Dr Munjed Al Muderis, head coach of Melbourne Victory football team, Kevin Muscat, artist Mitch Revs, award winning chef, Ryan Squires and founders of Bondi Hardware and The Botanist, Hamish Watts and Ben Carroll.

The content driven campaign will see different mentors used throughout the season. Each mentor will be used for special events and live online chat forums to take the conversation beyond product and allow consumers to interact with the men.

Van Heusen marketing manager Janine Buckman says: “In the past, we have worked with traditional creative agencies, however, we adopted a different and disruptive approach for this campaign as digital is incredibly influential in our customer’s world.

Isobar senior copywriter Michael Punton says the ad aims to promote a culture that values conversation around style and success.

The campaign is predominantly digital, supported by outdoor and print.
