Our female heritage empowers us says UN Women's campaign.

UN Women Australia has launched a powerful campaign to celebrate International Women's Day 2017 which champions our mothers, grandmothers and all the women of our shared history.

The two-minute ad, developed with BMF, 'Empower a Women, Empower a Nation', has been released to coincide with the day. It aims to raise awareness and funds to support UN Women's work in the Pacific and around the world.

UN Women National Committee Australia executive director Janelle Weissman says the campaign is the biggest of the year for the organisation. It is a part of the larger project which ensures that women and girls are equal participants in the community, the home, in business, in government and in the economy.

“UN Women is currently developing, implementing and running programs across the globe to enhance women’s economic empowerment and leadership opportunities” says Weissman.

The ad is also accompanied with a link to a donation site for the UN.
