Sara Lee has enlisted a slew of celebrity lookalikes to star in its new ad to give the brand a refresh.

Sara Lee has recreated the iconic Ricky Gervais Optus ad for its new campaign. The 15-second spot is part of a wider campaign from Sara Lee with several uncanny celebrity lookalikes, including Tom Cruise, Posh Spice, Barack Obama, Bono and Taylor Swift.

The idea is while the brand can skimp on celebrity talent, there are some things you should never skimp on - like dessert. It's the latest push for Sara Lee's premium cheesecake range.

In the 30-second TVC, by Banjo, the six "celebrities" gather for a dinner party. There are also a slew of other short clips for featuring each celeb individually. In one video, the Tom Cruise twin ressurects the famous sofa-jumping Oprah appearance with Sara Lee as the focus.

Sara Lee marketing manager Karen Ramsay says: “We are so excited about this campaign, as it will continue to broaden the brand into a more contemporary and premium space.”

The Lookalikes campaign is the first major campaign for Sara Lee since their agency, O’Shea & O’Brien joined forces with Banjo.

Ben O’Brien, creative director, says: Bringing six of the world’s best celebrity impersonators together was as bizarre and fascinating as you’d imagine. Living with someone else’s face definitely gives them a unique perspective on life.”
