Hyundai declares backseat peace in Santa Fe campaign

Buckethead's backseat war with stupid face could be a thing of the past says Hyundai's latest campaign.

The backseat battleground is a thing of the past. No more fights between siblings (or buckethead and stupid face), no more chewing gum in hair disasters and other acts of inter-family warfare.

That’s according to Hyundai’s latest campaign to promote its seven seat Santa Fe SUV.

The film, by Hyundai’s creative shop Innocean, centres around the universal truth that for generations the back of the car has been a war zone.

“Apart from seeing my life story played out on the screen, and probably everyone else’s as well, this campaign nailed the brief. The SUV segment is where it’s all happening and the combination of our fantastic all-new Santa Fe plus this great campaign will hopefully pay dividends,” Hyundai’s GM of marketing Andrew Knox said.

Innocean Worldwide Australia ECD Steve Jackson added: “I chuckle every time I see Stupid Face and Bucket Head. I’m proud too of our Innocean teams, they were all superstars. Let’s hope the Santa Fe helps battle-weary parents everywhere.”

The campaign will campaign runs across TV, cinema, digital and print.
