TAFE Western Sydney has partnered with Australian actor and comedian Rob Shehadie to launch a new web series, Educating Rob with help from digital agency VCCP.

Shehadie is currently starring in the Channel Nine comedy Here Comes the Habibs. His character in the web series uses the stereotypical Lebanese persona featured in the show Australia has come to love. He uses a comical insight to showcase student life at TAFE, promoting opportunities for his western Sydney community.

The six-part web series follows Shehadie’s character as he embarks on his educational journey with the aim of finding a job that will help him move out of home. Aside from a few initial 'cultural differences' we see him flourishing in his new environment; acing classes and making lifelong friends along the way.

Shehadie is a proud western Sydney-sider, and said he chose to do the mini-series while shooting Here Comes the Habibs because he is passionate about his community. The actor says his community faces high levels of youth unemployment so it is critical to appeal to young adults and inspire change.

The spot will target western Sydney's youth market and focus on short, sharable digital content.
