Cannes Lions says, Thank You Creativity

The campaign promoting the 2016 International Festival of Creativity is about being grateful for great ideas.

Developed in-house by Cannes Lions, Thank You Creativity is intended as a love letter to imagination and a reminder of purpose and power.

Cannes Lions Festivals CEO, Philip Thomas says: “We make the case for creativity because we know that it's a force for business, for change and for good. But we can do more.

“It’s our mission not just to champion creativity, but to remind people of its magic and join us in being grateful for the difference it makes.”

The integrated campaign features a series of short films with various shots of young children playing, inventors with their contraptions, ideas and a snippet of the iconic Dove ‘Evolution of Beauty’ ad.

The print work, to be rolled out across industry media from today, features an array of communications professionals who were asked to say why they’re thankful to creativity.

Cannes Lions intends to support the campaign with a new site where seminars and case studies are available. It also includes a podcast series revisiting classic campaigns and exercises that are designed to prompt insight into the industry.

The 63rd International Festival of Creativity takes place 18 - 25 June 2016.

In other news, Cannes Lions owner Ascential has confirmed pricing of its stock market float at £800 million ahead of the company commencing trading on the London Stock exchange this Friday.
