The meerkat has landed. Comparison website Compare the Market has introduced Australians to Aleksandr Orlov, the cheeky meerkat mascot of the brand. Aleksandr Orlov made his debut in the UK in 2009 and has arguably gone on to be a pop cultural icon.
The brand has set up comparethemeerkat.com.au as part of its Australian launch campaign, which will launch this Sunday. The current Compare the Market website allows consumers to compare meerkats in addition to its regular suite of products including insurance.
The meerkat campaign will include digital executions such as YouTube, Facebook and other interactive elements.
Compare the Market initially launched an Australian campaign sans Aleksandr Orlov last month.
