23 June 2011

Day 3 & 4

18. The days quickly begin to blur into one.

19. Edward de Bono believes the two most important things for people are significance (to a person or society) and achievement.

20. Dr de Bono has also invented a new word, ‘ebne’ which means excellent but not good enough. He believes in striving for thinking that adds value.

21. You fill your brain with a lot during the day, but then kill a lot of brain cells at night. So it’s important to write everything down.

22. Some seminars are just an hour-long company pitch where they attach a celebrity to guarantee a crowd. (But Jesse was really cool.)

23. They are pretty strict about pregnant women drinking here.

24. The best piece of advice Eric Schmidt (Executive Chairman of Google) received was to try to say yes more. He believes in the power of yes to bring positivity and take opportunities.

25. Google is structured to act quickly. They believe that ‘time to decision’ is critical to success.

26. Thanks to the growth of user-generated information, in 2 years time, information will double every 11 hours.

27. Cannes restaurants seem to have a loose dress code.
