Bauer Media has axed Homes+, Recipes+ and Yours magazines as new CEO Paul Dykzeul enforces his new plan to reshape the organisation.

The publisher says the new strategy is designed to drive more "efficient and creative ways" of working and take advantage of all the opportunities the market presents.

The final editions of these three titles will be published until the end of January 2018.

“These are essential changes so we can anticipate and respond to changes in the publishing market and are in line with our previously-announced strategy," Dykzeul says.

"The organisation will ensure all employees impacted by the closure of these titles are well supported to find future opportunities."

In the past 18 months, Bauer has sold five of its adventure titles and closed several magazines, including Rugby League Week, as part of a wider "viability audit".

Under the direction of former CEO Nick Chan, Bauer Media reorganised its portfolio around five consumer and customer segments, including women’s entertainment and lifestyle, homes, food, fashion, health and beauty, motoring and trader.

Speaking to AdNews shortly after his appointment, Dykzeul admitted there will be more staff cuts and magazine closures to come for Bauer.

He also admitted that past management at Bauer had made some mistakes. Read the full interview here.
