EXCLUSIVE: Starcom Australia's chief digital officer Yvette Mayer has moved to New York, as the local operation evaluates its staffing arrangements after its Optus win.

Mayer has taken on the role of senior vice president global digital director in Starcom's New York office.

Starcom chief executive John Sintras confirmed the move. When asked if the role would be directly replaced in Australia, Sintras said the agency is currently reviewing its entire staffing arrangements in the wake of its Optus win.

He said Starcom will need to staff up locally, but would not be drawn on exact numbers.

Sintras said: "She will be missed, but this is a great opportunity for her, and she is still part of the network."

Mayer left the agency last week.

Starcom recently won the $70 million-plus Optus account from MPG Sydney.
