EXCLUSIVE: Virgin Australia general manager of group marketing Michelle Lee has stepped down from the top marketing post, after nearly four years in the role.

A Virgin Australia spokeswoman confirmed the move to AdNews, and said that the company is currently searching internally and externally for a replacement.

Lee joined the company in January 2008, when the company was comprised of four separate brands Virgin Blue, Polynesian Blue, Pacific Blue and V Australia.

During her time in the top marketing post, she has overseen the company’s rebrand to Virgin Australia, as well as the appointment of Clemenger BBDO in September 2010.

Lee worked previously as both brand marketing manager and international marketing manager for Air New Zealand. She has also worked as Telecom New Zealand corporate market manager, PepsiCo Asia Pacific customer marketing manager and PepsiCo NewZealand marketing manager.

AdNews understands Lee left the job for personal reasons. It is unclear whether she is moving into another role.
