Virgin Australia is plotting an ad campaign to promote its partnership with Virgin Galactic to send Velocity members into space.

The airline is offering members of its frequent flyer program Velocity the opportunity to skip first-class and upgrade to Space Class securing a seat on one of the first commercial flights into space run by Virgin Galactic on board SpaceShipTwo.

It will launch a print and digital marketing push in May to promote the deal. It has already put out communications to its Velocity members.

Members need to fly with Virgin Australia between 1 May and 30 June, stack up those Velocity points and tell Virgin why they should become the next Virgin Galactic Astronaut.

To be part of Space Class and gain astronaut status click here or follow the hashtag #velocityspaceclass.
