It's rare for an ice cream commercial to leave you lost for words, but American dairy chain Little Baby's obscure new ad will do exactly that.
Fronted by a creepy, wide-eyed ice-cream covered 'shim', the strange spot shows him/her/it spooning the stodgy vanilla substance into its mouth off its head, reciting an unnerving narrative. "There's good reason for my glistening skin, and how I shine, and how my pores are so clean and clear".
"[The ice cream] keeps me young. It keeps me light on my feet", says the seemingly drug affected gender hybrid. It grows more excited, almost aroused, with each dripping mouthful it eats, made that much weirder only by the haunting nursery tune twinkling in the background.
What's more, the commercial's errie cannibalistic theme reaches a climax when the shim slowly says "I eat Little Babies ... Ice Cream."
The Philadelphia-based brand released the spot just two days ago with the name 'This Is A Special Time', in the hopes of promoting its 16% butterfat-content ice cream.
However, the brand clearly isn't one for conventional advertising as another of its non-sensical ads shows, stating "Go ahead and lick something. We lick you very much."
