Perth-based outfit The Brand Agency has acquired the local operations of digital shop Market United, as the agency looks to expand its specialist capabilities.

The Brand agency managing director Steve Harris, as well as the agency's executive creative director Garry Horner, confirmed the move to AdNews.

The Perth office has now grown its digital capabilities to 16 staff, up from only one staff member in 2010. The acquisition will see the agency's total numbers increase to 95 staff.

These digital capabilities will be available across The Brand Agency's other offices in Melbourne, Sydney and Auckland.

In an email to clients, Harris wrote: “Our digital offering will continue to be fully integrated into the mainstream ad agency, providing our clients with the unique ability to choose either a single integrated approach to all advertising requirements, or to access standalone specialist digital services backed by the resources of Perth’s largest advertising agency.

“This acquisition reinforces our position as the market leading agency in WA and adds further strength to our offices in Melbourne, Sydney and Auckland. No other agency can offer the Perth market the same degree of digital integration and resources; we now have more than three times the number of digital people as any other ad agency competitor, and we expect this to continue to grow over the next twelve months.”
