Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) has appointed national sales director Jeremy Simpson as Sydney general manager, replacing Adam Lang.

Lang recently left the company to take on the position of chief executive at Fairfax Radio.

Simpson has been replaced by director of radio sales Cathy Thomas, who will now lead sales strategy for metropolitan and regional radio and television.

Simpson said of his appointment, “There already exists an excellent culture of openness and cooperation across the company as well as a burning desire to develop the best possible content and ideas by investing in the best talent in the business - both on air and off air.

“The Sydney leadership team has done an outstanding job of producing media firsts in entertainment and I am thrilled to be part of this group going forward.”

Simpson has been overseeing the sales function at SCA following Southern Cross Media's acquisition of Austereo in 2011.

These appointments are effective immediately.
