Seven has ratings X factor

Seven's The X Factor has once again snared the ratings crown with last night's performance show attracting over 1.4 million viewers.

The singing competition trumped reality rival Big Brother's Monday and Live Nominations shows, which took home 993,000 and 867,000 respectively, according to preliminary overnight figures from OzTam.

Seven News scored the second hightest ratings with 1,224,000 viewers, with the network's other programs like Today Tonight and Home and Away each grabbing over one million.

Nine News was the network's program of choice, beating both its Big Brother formats with 1,044,000 viewers. A Current Affair took home 920,000 while The Mentalist got 736,000 viewers.

Channel Ten's News at Five attracted 687,000 viewers, with The Project just below it with 603,000. Modern Family Repeat and Can of Worms scored 600,000 and 572,000 respectively.

Other programs to feature in the top 20 were the ABC's News program, Q&A, Media Watch and Four Corners.

Channel Seven won the highest audience share with 24.2%, followed closely by Nine with 19.7%. The ABC took home 14.%, with Channel Ten attracting 11%. The SBS took home the least audience share with 3.5%.
