Second biggest search geek in world is an Australian

The biggest search geek in the world is not an Australian. But it so nearly was.

The annual Biggest Search Geek jamboree saw Australia’s Rich McPharlin, search performance manager at FirstClick Consulting come second, after leading the pack for much of the competition: The SMX Biggest Search Geek Contest, a joint venture between Marin Software and Third Door Media.

The propeller heads took on a challenge many would baulk at. Only those possessed of the knowledge and mental fortitude to answer 20 questions about some of the most granular aspects of search marketing took part. But, like in Highlander, there can be only one.

American, Umut Dincer, senior manager at The Home Depot, was that man, puzzling out the answers to the quiz’s questions in 5 minutes and 3 seconds.

Unlucky Rich.

Think you can beat him? The quiz is still live here.
