Naked Communications has picked up the creative and strategy account for SBS, with MEC taking over the broadcaster's media account. Nine-year incumbent Razor Group is out.

From July, Naked will work across across creative and strategy for SBS' broadcast, radio, online and mobile offerings. MEC will handle media buying.

The pitching process kicked off in January with incumbents of nine years, Razor Group, put on alert.

Carl Ratcliff, CEO of Naked Communications Australia, said: “This is a monumental win for Naked. We are absolutely delighted to be working with such an iconic Australian brand.

“SBS exists as a beacon for, and celebration of, Australia's brilliant diversity. Working with SBS into its future is a dream brief. We cannot wait to get started.”

Helen Kellie, director of marketing and verticals at SBS, said: “We're looking forward to partnering with Naked as we drive continued success of SBS and its relevance to all Australians.”
