Samsung has soared to the top of AdNews Viral Video Chart this week with its Galaxy S III ad which sends up Apple, grabbing nearly 14 million views in six days and boasting an enormous social media share rate.
Called 'The Next Big Thing Is Already Here', the spot has played on devout Apple fans who are desperate for its latest technology, regardless of how it performs. The assault debuted at the same time as the iPhone5 and showed various Samsung users in Apple queues promoting the Galaxy S III.
It has accumulated just short of 14 million YouTube views in six days.

Carlton Draught's 'Beer Chase' has claimed second place with over 3 million YouTube views and over 60,000 shares on Facebook. The commercial, created by Clemenger BBDO Melbourne, racked up 1.5 million hits in its first week and has found critial acclaim. The spot was an extension of its 'Made From Beer' positioning.
Samsung has appeared on the chart again in third place with an ad for its Galaxy Note 10.1 Tablet, featuring well-known artist and designer Tristan Eaton. The spot gained over 1.7 million views in just 5 days.
Technology giant Apple has fallen in fourth place for a 30 second spot for its iPhone5, and despite not boasting the same numbers as Samsung, it managed to attract nearly 1.5 million views in four days.
Other brands to feature on the chart were alcohol brand Wild Turkey, MEC Australia and EA Games Australia.
The AdNews Viral Video Chart ranks Australia's most popular brand-funded videos based on a combination of views and natural sharing.
The chart is updated every two weeks based on data from YouTube and sharing activity on Facebook and Twitter. Note that the chart shows total views, not the number of views generated in the past fortnight, so entries with a higher number of cumulative views may appear lower down.
