Reheated: MKR shoots back to the top

The return of My Kitchen Rules won the night for Seven yesterday, with 1.877 million people tuning in to see Tasmanian duo Thalia and Bianca's instant restaurant.

The reality cooking contest paved the way for Seven to win the night overall, taking 38.2% of the total free-to-air television audience share across Australia's five metro areas.

Nine followed, with 24.1% of the audience share, according to preliminary overnight ratings figures from OzTam.

Seven's Home and Away and Revenge were the only other non-news programs to make the top 10, in sixth and eighth spots respectively with audiences of 1.039 million and 942,000.

Seven News was the most-watched news show, ranking second with 1.487 million viewers, followed by Seven's Today Tonight, with 1.267 million viewers.

Completing the top 10 were Nine News, in fourth spot with 1.242 million viewers, Nine News at 6.30, fifth with 1.073 million, ABC News, seventh with 960,000, Nine's A Current Affair, ninth with 890,000, and ABC1's 7.30, 10th with 807,000.
