PHD has picked up the $9 million media account for mobile provider Amaysim, taking the business from MediaCom.

PHD will look after the strategy and communications planning, buying and analytics across all Amaysim products from next month.

FirstClick Consulting will continue to handle search engine marketing for Amaysim.

Andrew Balint, director of marketing at Amaysim, said: “We feel PHD's data-driven approach to performance marketing is essential to ensuring we continue to outsmart our competitors.

“I'd like to thank MediaCom for partnering with us since launch over three years ago, and for being such an important part of our business success to date.”

Toby Hack, managing director of PHD Australia, told AdNews: “Amaysim is a really interesting brand. They are really fast-growing and, in the mobile market, they stand for something different. They are the people's champion, which suits us and our business as well. To end up with a client who really is growing so rapidly is great.”
