Omnicom Media Group has hired PubMatic APAC and India MD Paul Shepherd to head up its programmatic trading operation.

Shepherd, who will be based in Sydney, starts his new role across Accuen immediately. He replaces Ben Grace who transferred to a role with Accuen in the US.

Shepherd was most recently responsible for the launch and introduction of the PubMatic sales side platform across the region. Before that, he was at ad network Adconian. He's also worked at Telstra/Sensis and Mediasmart.

Omnicom Media Group's ANZ chief executive Leigh Terry said: “Paul has the perfect blend of client service, commercial and technical expertise to continue driving this specialised optimisation proposition. He is held in the highest regard in the industry and we are really pleased to have him on board.”

Shepherd said: “I am extremely excited to be working with a respected marketing powerhouse like OMG. This gives me an amazing opportunity to be able to work on the strategy of some of the largest brands in the Australian market.”

The move is one of several of changes at the trading desk, with Accuen client service director Becky Glover also recently returning to the UK.
