OMD beefs up strategy

OMD has recruited Ikon's Bronwyn Cooper has strategy group head, based out of Sydney.

Cooper has spent the past four years at Ikon on the Commonwealth Bank and Westfield accounts. OMD said she specialises in media insights and research.

Cooper's appointment is part of OMD's reinvigoration of its strategy and performance departments. It had recently hired former Naked Communications staffer Nick Kavanagh, also as a strategy group head. Kavanagh had been embroiled in the Naked 'advertising for comment' scandal with the Labor Party's election campaign.

OMD national head of strategy Gavin Gibson said: “Browyn is an incredible strategic mind who brings a lot of experience in developing innovative business solutions for clients, and challenging category convention.”

Cooper said: “I'm very excited to be joining OMD at a time when specialist skills and breadth of resource make a real difference to the business results agencies can deliver to their clients.”

Cooper will report to Gibson.
