Nine Network has picked up Charlie Sheen's new comedy Anger Management, the troubled actor's first show since his infamous break with Two and a Half Men.
While Nine has not yet revealed exact details about the launch date or timeslot, the program will feature on the network’s primary station Nine. A Nine spokesperson told AdNews the launch of the show will be "post-Olympics".
The show is slated for a 28 June launch in the US.
Anger Management is Sheen's first television show since he split with Two and a Half Men, which Nine also broadcasts.
Sheen was dumped as lead actor from the show, battling with drug rehabilitation and a US$100 million legal battle with the show's maker Warner Bros.
In a very public interview, Sheen candidly slammed Two and a Half Men, while discussing his history with drugs and talking about himself using phrases such as “winning” and “I have tiger blood, man”.
Many pundits questioned whether Sheen was experiencing a breakdown.
In Anger Management, Sheen plays a similar character to the one he played in Two and a Half Men. He is still a serial womaniser, but this time he is an ex-footballer who becomes a therapist.
The show was made by Lionsgate, and will be aired on FX in the US.
