GQ Australia editor Nick Smith has been promoted to publisher – home and lifestyle group at NewsLifeMedia, replacing Mark Kelly who departed last month.

In his new role, Smith will be responsible for GQ Australia, Australian Golf Digest, Big League, Country Style, Vogue Living, Gardening Australia, InsideOut and homelife.com.au. Smith's focus will be to drive the titles' commercial opportunities, brand development extensions and multi-platform strategies. He will also continue to hold the position of GQ Australia editor-in-chief.

Smith's appointment is the latest in a line of hirings and firings occurring at NewsLifeMedia, as new chief executive Nicole Sheffield restructures the staffing.

Kelly, who held the role of group publisher, lifestyle until the end of May, left the company at the same time as Vogue editor-in-chief Kirstie Clements and Inside Out editor Richard Waller.

Clements has been replaced by former Harper's Bazaar editor Edwina McCann, poached from ACP alongside national circulation manager Brett Willis, who begins as NewsLifeMedia's general manager of retail sales and circulation this month.

Waller has been replaced by Sunday Magazine editor Claire Bradley, with the title's deputy chief sub-editor Lee Tran Lam receiving a promotion to managing editor.

Smith's promotion is effective immediately.
