Power brokers
Rupert Murdoch and Robert Thomson jointly hold the number one slot in The Australian's top 50 media list. Published today in the Murdoch-owned paper, Kerry Stokes came in at number two and Aegis Media Pacific executive chairman Harold Mitchell ranked third. Another Murdoch man, Kim Williams ranked fourth. Nine Entertainment's co-chief executive David Gyngell also made the top five.
Biggest risers on the list were Rick Ellis, up 34 places to number 16, and Gina Rinehart, up 19 places to ninth spot.Biggest fallers were SCA chief exec Rhys Hollaran, down 28 places, and Peter Blunden, Victoria managing director (editorial) News Limted, down 25 places.

Larger than life
Creative agency Frost* branded a float at this weekend's Sydney Mardi Gras Parade as part of its end HIV campaign for ACON. Frost's campaign has spanned film, print, digital and outdoor executions. Its distinctive billboards and bus shelters, highly visible across the city, were inspired by the iconic ‘CHOOSE LIFE’ t-shirts worn by 1980s band Wham, according to the firm.

Sky sell
News Corporation has confirmed News Limited subsidiary will divest its 44% stake in SKY Network Television Limited, New Zealand’s pay television broadcasting service.  Deutsche Bank will underwrite and manage the sale along with Craigs Investment Partners. Following the sales, News Limited will no longer have any holding in SKY Network Television Limited.

X marks the spot
Sydney creative outfirt Alphabet has rebranded part of the Rocks as ArgyleXchange in bid to drive locals to Urban Purveyor Group venues.

Good Wilson gesture
Media sales and agency recruitment stalwarts Russell and Amanda Wilson are moving overseas after 15 years placing talent at some of Australia’s leading media organisations. KPMR (Keeley Pope Media Recruitment) will be joining forces with Russell Wilson Associates immediately and will service all of RWA's clients and candidates.
