Hemming to head new comms APAC agency
Former News Digital Media head of corporate affairs Toby Hemming is behind the launch of a new Sydney based PR agency, Bold Media. The agency, of which Hemming is the director, will focus on the Asia-Pacific Region. Foundation clients include Profero's APAC operations, insights agency Edentify and design and copywriting agency, The Make Room.

Ikon recruits new staff to up social media offering
Media agency Ikon has hired UK TBG Digital staffer Ian Laurie as its new social performance manager. Laurie is set to oversee Ikon's social media operations. The agency has also hired Jacalin Ding as art director to lead the creative direction of clients' social media work. Both Laurie and Ding will report to Ikon's head of social media, mobile and technology, Nick Tubb. 

David Droga inducted into ADC Hall of Fame
Visual arts and creative organisaton The Art Directors Club has announced the entrance of Droga5 founder and creative chairman, David Droga, into its 2012 Hall of Fame.

FP Markets appoints UM
International share trading company FP markets has handed UM Australia a number of media and communications responsibilities, following a tender including several agencies. FP Markets is based in Sydney and London and focuses on trading in foreign exchange.

Daily Life and WeatherZone launch collaborative iPhone app
Women's lifestyle website Daily Life has partnered with Weatherzone to launch an iPhone application called 'Daily Weather'. The app aims to offer consumers fashion suggestions based on their current location's weather and can be downloaded from Daily Life or The App Store.

Reprise Media tweaks tech and media management
Search and social media agency Reprise Media has appointed former SEO director Andrew Hughes as its new innovation and technology director. The newly created role will see Hughes primarily focus on product development and ensure innovation across channels. Former Mediacom director of SEO David Coats has been appointed to fill Hughes' role, set to join the agency in late October.

Komli to advertise on digital gaming network
Asia-Pacific audience, media and technology network Komli has announced a deal to sell advertising on local gaming network Zynga. Zynga is estimated to attract around 20% of the 6 million Australians who game online each month.  

Perform and Optus to roll out partnership across FFA networks
Sports media group Perform has collaborated with Optus on a deal that will see the telco advertise and create content for several websites in the Football Federation of Australia (FFA) network. Optus will contribute news, sneak-peek videos, photos and opportunities for football fans to learn more about their favourite teams and plays. It has also created two new mobile apps which allow fans to remotely access A-league information.
