Countrytell appoints Sticky Advertising
Community broadband carrier Countrytell has appointed digital agency Sticky Advertising to develop a fully integrated marketing strategy. The Community Broadband Development Program will supplement the National Broadband Network in rural and remote New South Wales and across Australia. Sticky managing director Craig Wilson said: "It's wonderful to be working with a new brand that will be delivering such an important and innovative service. It's a rare opportunity that has everyone at Sticky very excited."
Mel Peters launches GlitterTree
Former Lowe executive creative director Melissa Peters has launched GlitterTrees, an eco e-commerce site supporting young Australian designers. The site has teamed up with Carbon Neutral to plant a tree for every transaction over $50. GlitterTrees has also partnered with Rooftop Honey to offer businesses sponsorship of beehives. Peters, who has relocated from Sydney to Melbourne, is also working with digital shop The White Agency as a creative consultant in its Melbourne office.
OMANZ records growth
The Outdoor Media Association of NZ (OMANZ) today announced further growth for 2011, with quarter two gross media revenue up 8.3% on same period last year. Phil Clemas, Chair for OMANZ said: “It is good to see continuing confidence in OOH from agencies and advertisers. On the back of this Q2 result was Q1 growth of 7.1% resulting in a half year increase of 7.8% or $2.235m.” OMANZ members are confident of steady growth for the remainder of 2011 and are amidst plans to help further that growth for 2012 and beyond. In the meantime, OMANZ have planned to prepare a creative showcase of great campaigns that appear over the period of the Rugby World Cup. “The showcase will feature later in the year on www.omanz.org.nz.
Movie audiences up 500,000
The movie genre increased its audience in Week 29 by 500,000, reaching a total of 3.2 million viewers. Movies appearing in the Top Non-sport Broadcasts included Killers on
Movie One, How to Train Your Dragon on Showtime Premiere, Shrek on Family Movie Channel and The Karate Kid on Showtime Premiere. The Top 5 channels for subscription television in Week 29 (by share of viewing) were FOX8*, TV1*, FOX SPORTS 1, FOX SPORTS 2 and The LifeStyle Channel. Year-to-date, subscription television share of viewing is 55% in STV Homes, 22.2% in
Metro and 18.1% in Regional markets.
