Media company Mi9 has promoted Emma-Jayne Owens to its newly created role of national sales director to its advertising division.

Owens will oversee the sales operations for the national business, working alongside Microsoft Media network and Bing Ads national sales director Steve Geelan. She joined Mi9 three years ago after a 15-year career at Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) where she was in charge of agency sales.

Mi9 Media managing director Matt James said her promotion was in response to market success of its rebrand, which it rolled out early last year. The firm dropped its Ninemsn name in favour of Mi9, with its former name contuining to represent its consumer brand.

“[She] has been instrumental in building the Mi9 business across NSW, QLD and SA alongside our other state directors," he said. "As we accelerate our proposition going forward we need to be delivering solutions consistently across the whole of Australia and Emma-Jayne will now lead an integrated, national sales force."
