As things start to hot up on My Kitchen Rules, Network Seven took out 37.2% of the free-to-air television audience share last night.

Falling short of the two million mark it hit on Tuesday evening, 1.961 million people tuned in across Australia's five metro areas yesterday to see Thalia and Bianca eliminated from the contest, leaving four teams for the grand final week.

The pilot of Seven's new drama series Intelligence, which aired last night immediately after MKR, also made the top 10. According to preliminary overnight ratings figures from OzTam, it took ninth spot with an audience of 850,000.

Following Seven, with 24.3% of the total audience share, was Nine. The ABC won 18% of the audience share, and Ten took 15.7%.

Seven News was the second most-watched program, with 1.155 million viewers, followed by Nine News with 1.149 million.

Seven's Today Tonight came fourth, with an audience of 1.063 million, and Nine News at 6.30 was fifth, with 1.036 million.

Completing the top 10 was Home and Away on Seven, with 971,000 viewers, ABC News with 963,000, Nine's A Current Affair with 865,000 and ABC1's 7.30 with 824,000.
