Last week, Val Morgan held its second Australian Creative Excellence Showcase (ACES) Awards, aiming to champion outstanding cinema and television advertising.

M&C Saatchi took home the top gong for its Optus 'Lion' campaign, including a media schedule valued at $25,000. The cinema ad was shot and produced by Kite, the agency's in-house production unit.

Val Morgan chief executive Damian Keogh, in speaking of the campaign, said: “It was a simple but clever idea, well executed."

The ACES, held in March and September annually, are judged by panel of industry experts led by BWM's executive creative director Rob Belgiovane.
