Independent agency MercerBell has promoted general manager Julie Dormand to managing director as part of a restructure, which has also seen Nick Mercer named CEO.

Prior to the restructure, Mercer was managing director.

Dormand has been with the agency for 10 years and was elevated to general manager just under two years ago. She has previously worked with Lowe Lintas and Merrill Lynch HSBC.

Mercer said: “Julie has been an integral part of the agency for the past 10 years, and she is not only eminently capable as a leader, she is also a major contributor to the evolution of our agency and the industry as a whole.

“Julie is a role model to our staff, for women in advertising industry and in business in general. Her appointment as managing director will take us to a new level, both in our structure as a business and in terms of the range and depth of service we deliver for our clients.”

Recently, MercerBell retained the creative account for financial services brand Allianz.
