Maxus Australia has appointed Ikon Melbourne trading director Nathan Cook as national trading director, allowing Mark McCraith to focus more wholly on his chief operating officer role.

Prior to Cook's appointment, McCraith was the national trading figurehead for Maxus, in addition to his position as chief operating officer.

However, McCraith told AdNews it was time to find someone dedicated to the national trading role.

McCraith said: “I am delighted to be working with Nathan again, and especially in a national role, he is one the top trading directors in the country and will add significant value to our clients.”

Cook will report to both Cook and the agency's new boss Jon Chadwick, who was appointed after the departure of David Gaines last week.

Maxus clients include GSK, Aldi, Greens, Hungry Jack’s, Suzuki, AGL, Domino's, Fiat Chrysler, Forty Winks and Spirit of Tasmania.

Cook will begin in mid September.
