Research company Ipsos MediaCT has brought on board Horizon Media chief executive and head of sales and marketing Jane Nicholls as commercial director ahead of the launch of The Readership Works' new print insights arm.

In the newly created role, Nicholls will lead the commercialisation and go-to-market strategy for the new cross-platform audience insights survey EMMA (Enhanced Media Metrics Australia), developed for The Readership Works.

Nicholls has more than 20 years' experience at organisations including NewsLifeMedia, Fairfax, Reader's Digest and News Limited. Ipsos MediaCT managing director Simon Wake said: "Jane brings a wealth of credentials and experience to this important new role at Ipsos MediaCT.

"She will develop a commercial go-to-market strategy and lead the sales team for [EMMA] to media agencies and advertisers. EMMA will provide a more complete picture of how people read and engage with newspapers and magazines across print, website, mobile and tablet platforms."

Nicholls said: "I am really excited about this new role at Ipsos MediaCT and to be part of the go-to-market team for this world-class audience survey. I am ready to embrace the challenge ahead and develop a compelling offer for our clients."

EMMA, which will survey over 50,000 people a year, will provide advertisers and media agencies sectional data within newspapers, segmentations and insights into product categories, and an in-depth database of all newspaper and magazine formats across print, website, mobile and tablet.
