Initiative has recruited Ikon Sydney joint managing director Annick Perrin to head its Sydney office.

Perrin will be managing director in Sydney and work with national chief executive Andrew Livingston, who joined from MediaCom at the end of last year.

She leaves Ikon Communications after more than six years at the agency, most recently as joint managing director alongside Pat Crowley who will now become sole managing director. Perrin has also worked at Carat, McCann Erickson and Lintas.

She replaces Chris O'Keefe who vacated the position in July 2011 to take up the managing director post at Initiative Perth.

Livingston said: “Annick was the stand-out candidate to lead Initiative Sydney. Her career achievements and ambitions for the future totally connect with the challenges and opportunities for our clients, as well as the plans and goals we have for Initiative. One of her greatest skills is that she totally engages with people within the agency and with clients, a practice that will impact our culture in a most positive way.”

Mediabrands chairman Henry Tajer said: “Annick's management style and the success she has created in her career are quite infectious. She will make a big impact on Initiative's strategy for the future.”

Perrin said: “Having discussed the strategy and plans for Initiative with Andrew Livingston and Mediabrands' management, the agency has clearly started an exciting new stage and I am very keen to contribute my skills to this plans. My time at Ikon and in the media industry have been wonderful and now I am looking forward to helping Initiative accelerate its performance.”

Ikon national chief executive Dan Johns said: “Pat Crowley and Annick Perrin have performed the role of joint managing directors of Ikon Sydney for the past 12 months. Across the period, both have grown their confidence and skills to be able to run a business on their own.

“Annick has a great opportunity to do this at Initiative and leaves with our best wishes. We thank her for the past six years at Ikon.

“We're delighted to announce Pat Crowley as the sole managing director of the Ikon Sydney business and we will be investing in additional resource to continue our growth into the important areas of analytics and creativity.”

Perrin is to start at Initiative on 29 October. Additionally, Livingston has appointed John Clements  as finance director. Perrin and Clements will both serve on the national management team with Livingston, O'Keefe, Initiative Melbourne managing director Andrew Mudgway and chief strategy office Rob Pyne.
