Ikea fends off an attack of the gnomes

Gnomes are the target of scorn in a new Ikea UK ad.

Gnomes. Do you find their strangely happy faces creepy? Or maybe RL Stine's Goosebumps books convinced you they are preternaturally evil? Well then, Ikea has the ultimate revenge fantasy for you.

Ikea UK and ad agency Mother has created an epic battle between a couple and an army of gnomes unhappy about being booted out of their domain. After all, something has to give to make way for the shiny new outdoor furniture.

The ensuing battle would put Jerry Bruckheimer to shame, but in miniature. And hey, who knew gnomes could emote so much? The seminal masterpiece Gnomeo and Juliet aside.

The two-minute long vid is set to a cover of Motley Crue's 'Time for Change' by The Palace of Budapest Philharmonic Orchestra. Probably not what the Crue had in mind, but hey, it works.
