Host's Freedman: Global expansion only on merit order

Host boss Anthony Freedman has remained tight-lipped on expansion plans following an article in the Australian Financial Review which suggested a San Francisco office would be followed by a Shanghai opening. However, he said any new business order was not set in stone.

"We're not making a firm commitment" on timings, he told AdNews. Whether plans progress first for the US or China "comes down to a couple of different elements: opportunities with potential clients; and how we progress with key founding team members."

Freedman said that the office "that goes first will be the one that answers those best."

He stressed that while plans were "progressing ... we are certainly not in a position to be making firm decisions on timings."
