V8 Supercars has tasked Host with developing a new brand strategy for 2014 and the agency has appointed former GPY&R man Julian Watt to help do it.
Host will prepare an integrated campaign to launch later this year.
V8 Supercars is the third most watched sport in Australia with 19 million TV viewers. The 2014 V8 Supercars season starts with the Sydney pre-season test on 15 February.
John Casey, V8 Supercars marketing director, said: “We needed an agency that was strategic, creative, responsive and as ambitious for our business as we are. Host had all the bases covered.”
Watt, the former executive creative director of GPY&R Sydney will share creative leadership of the agency with Host's ECD Bob Mackintosh. Its other clients include NBN Co, Fetch TV and Carnival Cruises.
