EXCLUSIVE: Digital agency Holler has ended its five-year relationship with Lion, declining to repitch for the digital account of its alcohol brands.

Earlier this month, AdNews revealed FMCG giant Lion had pitched out its digital account for its alcohol brands, including James Boag, Tooheys and XXXX. Lion has invited its lead creative agencies, Publicis Mojo and BMF, to participate in the pitch.

Holler has decided to bow out of the contest. The agency has been working with the company for five years on its beer brands and picked up its wine business in 2009.

Holler chief executive, Mike Hill, said: “We have had an amazing time working with Lion these past years and have produced some incredible work together. Lion has some great new opportunities ahead of them and Holler wish them all the success in the future.”

The digital agency recently became the digital agency of record for Reckitt Benckiser which should offset any revenue losses from Lion.
