South Australian Tourism Commission (SATC) has hired George Patterson Y&R (GPY&R) Adelaide to the Santos Tour Down Under creative business.
GPY&R will develop creative assets for the event, which is part of the World UCI Tour, which also includes the Tour de France.
SATC marketing director David O'Loughlin said: “George Patterson Y&R pitched against two other agencies to win the account and demonstrated strong insights and ideas into how the event can expand and grow.”
Y&R Melbourne group managing director Steve Doherty said: “It was great to be working with SATC on such a high profile international event. Cycling is growing in Australia and with our strong tourism and sports marketing expertise we will build even stronger patronage to the event.
“Adding SATC to our client roster continues our momentum in Adelaide and we look forward to further capitalising on this.”
Earlier this week, GPY&R Melbourne lost the Medibank business, but the agency had picked up the creative account from the federal government for NBN advertising.
