Ed Sanders, Google Glass marketing director, is heading home to Australia to complete the speaker line-up for the Sydney World Federation of Advertisers conference in March.

The California based tech marketer joins ad legend Sir John Hegarty, Marc Mathieu, Unilever’s senior vice president of marketing, and James Thompson, Diageo Reserve global managing director.

Sanders took the lead marketing role for Glass in 2013 joining from Google’s New York Creative Lab where he was part of the marketing  team tasked with communicating “the magic of Google’s products”. He led projects for YouTube, Chrome, Apps, Google TV and Android.

With a background in media and M&A law, Sanders has previously worked with Warner Bros. and the International Olympic Committee.

Sunita Gloster, chief executive of the AANA, said: “Ed is ideally placed to offer a perspective on fostering creativity within marketing teams and the impact of technology on marketing communication. When we secured the honour of hosting the 2014 Marketer Conference we committed to bringing the best line-up of marketing talent Australia has ever seen, I think it is safe to say we’ve delivered on that promise.”

As an Australian marketer making waves overseas, Sanders is also a nominee for the AANA’s GRAMA Awards which will kick off their first year at the conference, in an effort to recognise the skills and successes of Australian marketing on the world stage, says Gloster.
